Fire Instructor II

Service Description

This course is a 40-hour course designed to meet the requirements of the Pro Board Fire Instructor II and assist the student with various problems and situations they may be required to manage in today’s changing fire service and in the classroom. The curriculum provides the student with a further understanding of the National Fire Protection Association standard (NFPA 1041), but also gives the student an overview of how to supervise newer instructors. This course is designed for the Fire Instructor or candidate who is ready to step deeper into the world of instructing and wants to develop the knowledge and ability to develop individual lesson plans for a specific topic including learning objectives, instructional aids, and evaluation instruments. After finishing this course, the candidate will be more knowledgeable of creating the lesson plans, scheduling training, and supervising other instructors. This course is in line with NFPA 1021 and NPQS. Georgia students will have finished the task book required to sit for the NPQS test. Tennessee students will get a certificate of completion and be eligible to test at the state level.
