Fire Officer I is a program built for the new and upcoming officer in the fire service. This course is a 40 hour course designed to meet the requirements of the Pro Board Fire Officer I and assist the student with various problems and situations they may be required to manage in today’s changing fire service. The curriculum provides the student with the understanding of the National Fire Protection Association standard (NFPA 1021), but also gives the student an overview of their own organization, administration, management theory, leadership, communications, motivation, group dynamics, inspection/investigation, and health and safety while staying in-line with NFPA 1021. Georgia students will have finished the task book required to sit for the NPQS test. Tennessee students will get a certificate of completion and be eligible to test at the state level.
